May I help you?

Here is a short and sweet article from Seth Godin’s blog on how to initiate conversation with people, and especially, customers.

From my salesman days, I realized that open ended questions was better at starting conversations, and if you demand a response, use what I call a “magician’s choice”.

For example, if you want to get into someone’s house (I was a door-to-door sales), you walk up to the door, and ask if you should take off your shoes.
